To provide water recycling for the new Administration Building for Denver Water,  RNL Design (now Stantec) hired Aqua Nova to design an innovative t system. This system diverts building sewage to an advanced treatment system using conventional treatment and wetlands. Wastewater passes through a primary screen system then an MBBR-based biological treatment with nutrient removal and polishing in a three-stage wetland. Finally effluent is filtered and disinfected to the most rigorous virus reduction standards. Final effluent will be reusee in the building for toilet flushing and for outdoor irrigation.

Aqua Nova provided design and permitting services along with construction phase assistance. Construction completion is expected in Summer 2019. Commissioning is expected by Fall 2020.
