Stantec Architecture designed the award-winning new Frederick County Middle School in 2014 and hired Aqua Nova to design a water treatment and supply system for a newly-installed well. The new water system supplies not only the middle school but also the older elementary school that had a problematic water system. The treatment includes softening and disinfection by sodium hypochlorite injection. The treated water is stored in a large, HDPE, in-ground storage tank and then pressurized by submersible pumps controlled by Variable Frequency drives to match demand.
Aqua Nova provided services include Engineering, permitting construction oversight and commissioning. Engineering was completed 2014. System commissioned August 2016. The Disinfection system was designed in 2019.
