The City of Santa Clara's very popular Central Park features a pond that was overwhelmed by algae. Aqua Nova designed a two-stage, subsurface flow wetland system to remove pollutants and algae from the pond, keeping the water cleaner and healthier. Aqua Nova also recommended atreatment product to remove the phosphorus from the water to help water clarity during peak algae growth periods.

Aqua Nova provided engineering including construction drawings, controls system overall design, construction oversight and commissioning. The wetland treatment system was commissioned in 2014 and Aqua Nova has provided ongoing operations support to the City.
